Emilia Clarke embarks on a festive romance with Henry Golding in Last Christmas trailer

Earlier this year, the beautiful Emilia Clarke finally brought the curtain down on her iconic role as Daenerys Targaryen (a.k.a the Mother of Dragons) in the controversial final series of the HBO epic Game of Thrones.

While many were left divided by her character’s dark and tragic fate, Emilia is now swapping dragons for Christmas in her next screen project.

The British actress is tackling her first major rom-com in the form of the upcoming Last Christmas which is director by Paul Feig (Bridesmaids, Ghostbusters).

The film’s lengthy trailer has finally premiered and sees Emilia don an Elvish suit and sing one of our favourite festive songs.

The plot centres on Kate, a beautiful yet down-on-her-luck woman who works as an elf in a year-round Christmas shop. Following a number of bad decisions, her fortunes seem to change when she meets a handsome man named Tom.

Fresh from his debut role in the hit rom-com Crazy Rich Asians (2018), Henry Golding plays Tom alongside his ‘Asians’ co-star Michelle Yeoh (Crazy Rich Asians) as Kate’s boss and Oscar-winner Emma Thompson (Howards End, Love, Actually) as her supportive mother.

Thompson has also co-written the script while the film is set to feature music from the late George Michael which includes the popular title track and previously-unreleased material.

Last Christmas will be getting us into the festive mood when it is released in the UK on November 15.
