Cillian Murphy races against time to build the atomic bomb in new trailer for Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer

An explosive new trailer has landed for the much-anticipated war epic Oppenheimer.

Directed by renowned filmmaker Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight trilogy, Dunkirk), the film focuses on how physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer was tasked with building a nuclear bomb that played a key role in the climax of World War II.

Cillian Murphy (The Dark Knight trilogy, Peaky Blinders) portrays Oppenheimer alongside several major stars including Matt Damon (Bourne series, The Departed) as Leslie Groves Jr., Emily Blunt (Sicario, A Quiet Place) as Kitty Oppenheimer, Robert Downey Jr. (Chaplin, Iron Man trilogy) as Lewis Strauss and Florence Pugh (Little Women, Black Widow) as Jean Tatlock.

Additionally, the rest of the film’s impressive ensemble includes Oscar-winner Rami Malek (Bohemian Rhapsody, No Time to Die), Benny Sadie (Pieces of a Woman, Licorice Pizza), Josh Hartnett (Pearl Harbor, Black Hawk Down), Dane DeHaan (Chronicle, The Staircase), Jack Quaid (The Boys, Scream), Alden Ehrenreich (Hail Caesar!, Solo: A Star Wars Story), Kenneth Branagh (Dunkirk, Tenet), David Dastmalchian (Prisoners, Ant-Man), Jason Clarke (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Terminator: Genisys), James D’Arcy (Agent Carter, Dunkirk), Alex Wolff (Hereditary, Jumanji: The Next Level), Scott Grimes (American Dad!, The Orville), Josh Peck (Drake & Josh, Mean Creek), Michael Angarano (The Knick, This is Us), Tony Goldwyn (Ghost, Scandal), Matthew Modine (Full Metal Jacket, Stranger Things), Olivia Thirlby (Dredd, Y: The Last Man), Tom Conti (Reuben, Reuben, Shirley Valentine), and Oscar-winner Gary Oldman (The Dark Knight trilogy, Darkest Hour).

Oppenheimer will be released in cinemas on 21 July 2023.
