Over the years, Christian Bale has undergone a number of physical transformations to help him with challenging film roles.
The Oscar-winning star of the Dark Knight trilogy (2005-2012), The Fighter (2010) and American Hustle (2013) is now delving into politics for his next project which sees him reunite with his The Big Short director Adam McKay.
The pair have worked on a new political biopic entitled Vice which has premiered its official trailer just in time for awards season….
The film follows the story of American politician Dick Cheney (Bale) who was involved in the administrations of Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford and George H.W. Bush. He then served for two terms as Vice President under George W. Bush and was at the center of a controversial foreign policy during the post-9/11 wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Having previously worked with Bale on The Fighter and American Hustle, Amy Adams (Arrival, Strange Objects) co-stars as Cheney’s loyal wife Lynne with recent Oscar-winner Sam Rockwell (Seven Psychopaths, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri) portraying George W. Bush.
The rest of the ensemble cast includes Steve Carell (Foxcatcher, The Big Short), Jesse Plemons (Breaking Bad, The Post), LisaGay Hamilton (Jackie Brown, The Practise), Tyler Perry (Alex Cross, Gone Girl), Eddie Marsan (Ray Donovan, Deadpool 2), Shea Whigham (Boardwalk Empire, The Wolf of Wall Street), Lily Rabe (American Horror Story, Miss Stevens) and Bill Pullman (Independence Day, The Sinner).
Vice will be released in the UK on 1st February 2019.
