Chris Hemworth’s Thor reunites with Natalie Portman’s Jane in new trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder

This coming July sees our favourite Asgardian return to action as the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to follow the story of Thor.

Played again by Chris Hemsworth, the lovable demigod appears to be in better spirits for the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder after enduring a tough time in the recent Avengers spin-offs Infinity War (2018) and Endgame (2019).

Following the release of a teaser trailer in April, a new full-length trailer sees Thor back to his old self while teaming up with a familiar faces….

The plot sees Thor on a search for self-discovery after settling back in Asgard. However, he is then forced to return to action when a galactic killer threatens to wipe out all the gods.

The story also marks a return to the series for Oscar-winner Natalie Portman as Thor’s ex-lover Jane Foster, who now wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir.

There are also appearances from other Marvel regulars including Tessa Thompson (as King Valkyrie) and Jaimie Alexander (as Sif) plus Guardians of the Galaxy characters Chris Pratt (as Peter Quill / Star-Lord), Dave Bautista (as Drax), Karen Gillan (as Nebula), Pom Klementieff (as Mantis), Vin Diesel (as Groot), Bradley Cooper (as Rocket Racoon) and Sean Gunn (as Kraglin Obfonteri).

Additionally, the franchise also welcomes two Oscar-winning stars to the MCU in Christian Bale (The Dark Knight trilogy, The Fighter) as the villainous Gorr the God Butcher and Russell Crowe (Gladiator, Cinderella Man) as Zeus.

Having previously directed Thor: Ragnorak (2017), Taika Waititi is back behind the camera again while also contributing the voice of Thor’s companion Kang.

Thor: Love and Thunder will roll into cinemas on 8 July.
