Anya Taylor-Joy’s Furiosa finds herself caught between two tyrants in Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga trailer

An explosive trailer has arrived for Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga.

The latest installment of the action-adventure franchise sees visionary filmmaker George Miller return to the iconic dystopian world, almost a decade after the tremendous success of Mad Max: Fury Road (2015).

On this occasion, the new outing is a prequel that explores the origins of the powerhouse warrior Furiosa as memorably played in Fury Road by Oscar-winner Charlize Theron.

This time around, Golden Globe winner Anya Taylor-Joy (The Queen’s Gambit, The Menu) steps into the shoes of Furiosa in what promises to be one of 2024’s most highly-anticipated films.

The plot focuses on a young Furiosa as she finds herself snatched from her homeland and caught in the crossfire between two tyrannical warlords.

In an against type role, Chris Hemsworth (Thor series, Extraction) plays the devious biker Warlord Dementus alongside Tom Burke (Mank, The Lazarus Project) as a young Immortan Joe and Alyla Browne (Three Thousand Years of Belonging, The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart) in an unspecified part.

Furiosa will race its way into UK cinemas on 22 May 2024.
