Dreamworks Animation confirm The Croods sequel in development

After doing surprisingly well at the box-office, the prehistoric animation The Croods is looking set to be become the latest cartoon flick to warrant a sequel.

Dreamworks Animation confirmed the news last night that the film (which made ¢386 million in the US) would be gaining a follow-up.

Kirk DeMacco and Chris Sanders who both directed AND wrote it are back on board with the Dreamworks spokesman also confirming that talks are ongoing with the main stars who they hope will come back to voice.

Oscar-winner Nicolas Cage, Emma Stone and Ryan Reynolds were amongst the big names that contributed their vocals to the original film.

A release date for the sequel has yet to be announced by the studio.
