Six years after making their first appearance as an app on our I-Phones, the Angry Birds are set for their own cinematic outing next year.
The grumpy feathered creatures are introduced individually by the voice actors portraying them in the film’s official trailer.
No concrete plot details have been confirmed as of yet though the film is being directed by storyboard animators Clay Kaytis (Mulan, Frozen) and Fergal Reilly (The Iron Giant, Spiderman 2) and written by former The Simpsons screenwriter Jon Vitti.
There is also a solid vocal cast behind the project which includes Jason Sudeikis (Horrible Bosses, We’re the Millers) as Red, Josh Gad (Frozen, Pixels) as Chuck, Danny McBride (Pineapple Express, This is the End) as Bomb, Maya Rudolph (Bridesmaids, Big Hero 6) as Matilda, recent Emmy Award winner Peter Dinklage (Elf, Game of Thrones) as The Mighty Eagle and Bill Hader (Saturday Night Live, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs) as a spokesperson for the Minion Pigs.
The Angry Birds Movie will be released in cinemas on May 13th 2016.
