There is just under a year to go until fans get their first glimpse of Ben Affleck’s Batman in the upcoming superhero blockbuster Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
As the wait continues, there is now official confirmation that the Caped Crusader will be the subject of another solo film with the new man playing him set to don the black cape again before his on-screen debut has even been made.
Furthermore, Oscar-winner Affleck (Daredevil, Argo) will also be directing the film with screenwriting duties going to DC Comics veteran Geoff Johns (Arrow, The Flash).
No release date has been revealed yet for the new Batman outing but production is likely to begin after Affleck finishes work on his Prohibition-era crime-drama Live by Night (2016).
The news comes as no big surprise to some though it is likely that this will be Affleck’s only solo appearance as the Dark Knight given his current age. However that could yet change depending on how his portrayal of Batman is received in the Man of Steel follow-up.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will be released in cinemas on March 25th 2016.
