Jodie Comer and Aaron Taylor-Johnson fight to survive a zombie apocalypse in 28 Years Later trailer

A terrifying trailer has landed for 28 Years Later.

The long-awaited follow-up to the post-apocalyptic horror series comes over twenty years after the initial success of Danny Boyle’s cult hit 28 Days Later (2002).

Fans of the original will be pleased to know that Boyle is back behind the camera for the new instalment, along with writer Alex Garland and a rumoured return for leading man Cillian Murphy as bicycle courier Jamie.

In the case of this outing, which follows on from the events of the respected sequel 28 Weeks Later (2007), the plot centres on a group of survivors who finds themselves caught up in a world ravaged by hordes of the infected.

On the casting front, BAFTA and Emmy-winner Jodie Comer (Killing Eve, The End We Start From) and Golden Globe winner Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Nowhere Boy, Nocturnal Animals) lead the ensemble alongside Jack O’Connell (Unbroken, SAS: Rogue Heroes), Erin Kellyman (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Willow), Alfie Williams (His Dark Materials), Edvin Ryding (Gåsmamman, Young Royals), and Oscar nominee Ralph Fiennes (Schindler’s List, Conclave).

Billed as the first film in a new trilogy, 28 Years Later will be released in UK cinemas on 20 June 2025.
