A terrifying new trailer has been released for Alien: Romulus.

The seventh installment of the Alien franchise takes place between the events of Alien (1979) and Aliens (1986) and follows a new set of characters caught in the crossfire of those dastardly Xenomorphs.

Directed by Fede Álvarez (Evil Dead, Don’t Breathe) and produced by Sir Ridley Scott (Alien, Blade Runner), the story concerns a group of young space colonists who, while scavenging a derelict space station, come face to face with the most terrifying life form in space.

Rising starlet Cailee Spaeny (Priscilla, Civil War) leads the film’s youthful cast which also includes David Jonsson (Industry, Rye Lane), Archie Renaux (Morbius, Catherine Called Birdy), Isabela Merced (Dora and the Lost City of Gold, Madame Web), Spike Fearn (Aftersun, Back to Black), and newcomer Aileen Wu.

Alien: Romulus will arrive in UK cinemas on 16 August.
