After the devastating climax of last year’s superhero epic Avengers: Infinity War, Marvel are already setting us up for the mouth-watering sequel which arrives in just over a month(!).
Officially entitled Avengers: Endgame, the sequel is set to introduce Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe which means the possibility of saying goodbye to a couple of renowned characters.
Following the release of a teaser preview back in December, a new full-length trailer has been unveiled which provides nostalgia and a shot at redemption for our heroes.
Helmed again by the Russo Brothers, the plot follows on from the dramatic events of Infinity War which saw most of the Avengers (including Spider-Man, Star-Lord, Black Panther and Nick Fury) and half the world get wiped out by Thanos’s Infinity Snap. The survivors, which include Tony Stark, Steve Rogers and Natasha Romanoff, face a challenge in trying to seek revenge on Thanos while also figuring out a way of reviving those who were lost in the recent battle.
Robert Downey Jr (Tony Stark/Iron Man), Chris Evans (Steve Rogers/Captain America), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Scarlett Johansson (Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow), Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner/Hulk), Jeremy Renner (Clint Barton/Hawkeye), Paul Rudd (Scott Lang/Ant-Man), Don Cheadle (James Rhodes/War Machine), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Danai Gurira (Okoye), Benedict Wong (Wong), Jon Favreau (Happy Hogan), Gwyneth Paltrow (Pepper Potts) and Josh Brolin (Thanos) all reprise their roles along with Bradley Cooper who returns to voice Rocket Raccoon.
Additionally, Brie Larson will feature as Carol Danvers a month after the release of the origin film Captain Marvel, with Katherine Langford (13 Reasons Why) appearing in an unspecified role.
Set to be the biggest film of 2019, Avengers: Endgame will be out in cinemas on April 26th 2019.
