The Guardians rally to support Rocket Racoon in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 trailer

Marvel fans, rejoice! A colourful (and surprisingly bittersweet) trailer has finally been unveiled for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Touted as filmmaker James Gunn’s last involvement with the Guardians series, the threequel is part of the upcoming Phase 5 slate for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The plot sees Peter Quill / Star-Lord attempt to win over an amnesic Gamora following her decision to join the Ravagers, while Rocket Racoon finds himself being confronted by his tragic past.

As expected, Chris Pratt reprises his popular role as Quill alongside Zoë Saldaña as Gamora plus Dave Bautista as Drax, Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Pom Klementieff as Mantis, Sean Gunn as Kraglin, and Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot. Additionally, the threequel also sees the return of Elizabeth Debicki as Ayesha and Sylvester Stallone as Stakar Ogord.

The film welcomes more newcomers to the MCU including Will Poulter (We’re the Millers, Dopesick) as Adam Warlock, Chukwudi Iwuji (The Split, Peacemaker) as the High Revolutionary, and Oscar-nominee Maria Bakalova (Borat Subsequent Moviefilm, Bodies Bodies Bodies) as the voice of Cosmo the Spacedog.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be released in the UK on 5 May 2023.
