The chase between Sandra Oh’s Eve and Jodie Comer’s Villanelle reaches its conclusion in Killing Eve (Series 4) trailer

2022 is already promising to be an emotional one for television fans, especially with saying goodbye to several high-profile series.

Following last month’s emotional climax of the hit Ricky Gervais sitcom After Life, there are other big shows preparing to finish this year including Ozark, Peaky Blinders and Better Call Saul.

There’s also the small matter of Killing Eve, the hit BBC series that first debuted on our television screens in 2018. Based on the popular novels by Luke Jennings, the spy thriller has provided us with plenty of iconic moments involving leading stars Sandra Oh as British intelligence agent Eve Polastri and Jodie Comer as eccentric Russian assassin Villanelle.

With the fourth and final series due to air next month, the official trailer has finally premiered and promises a last dose of violent deaths and romantic tension…

The plot sees Villanelle turn over a new leaf by finding God while Eve seeks to uncover the truth surrounding the mysterious organisation simply known as The Twelve.

Golden Globe winner Sandra and Emmy winner Jodie are joined in the final series by other Killing Eve regulars including Fiona Shaw as Carolyn Martens, Kim Bodnia as Konstantin Vasiliev and Camille Cottin as the sinister Hélène.

The series also features some new additions including Anjana Vasan (Mogul Mowgli, We Are Lady Parts), Robert Gilbert (Ready Player One, The Tragedy of Macbeth) and Marie-Sophie Ferdan (Philharmonia).

Killing Eve’s final run of episodes will begin airing on BBC One from February 28.
