The battle for Westeros reaches its epic conclusion as winter finally comes in Game of Thrones Series 8 trailer

So it’s all come down to this….

After seven years of sex, violence, betrayal, heartbreak and the odd bit of incest, HBO’s multi-award winning fantasy epic Game of Thrones is set for a bittersweet ending.

The big question on everyone’s minds is about who will survive the show’s final series, which has been shortened to just six episodes. Despite this, each episode is set to be over an hour long and promises plenty of thrills and shocks along the way.

Following the release of a couple of teaser previews, an official trailer has finally landed. It’s safe to say that nothing will ever be the same again in Westeros!

The concluding series is set to follow on from the dramatic events of the Series 7 finale which saw the Night King and his White Walker army begin their invasion of Westeros. Additionally, Jon “King of the North” Snow and his auntie Daenerys Targaryen embarked on a passionate affair unaware of Jon’s real heritage.

Details of the plot for have been kept hidden by HBO and the cast, though the trailer’s footage indicates that Jon, Dany and co. will be bracing themselves for battle early doors. There is also the potential threat of Queen Cersei Lannister who is looking to strengthen her grip on the Iron Throne.

The ‘surviving’ cast members for the concluding series consist of Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister), Kit Harington (Jon Snow), Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen), Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister), Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister), Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark), Maisie Williams (Arya Stark), Isaac Hempstead Wright (Bran Stark), Liam Cunningham (Davos Seaworth), Nathalie Emmanuel (Missandei), Alfie Allen (Theon Greyjoy), John Bradley (Samwell Tarly), Conleth Hill (Lord Varys), Carice Van Houten (Melisandre), Jerome Flynn (Bronn), Gwendoline Christie (Brienne of Tarth), Rory McCann (Sandor ‘The Hound’ Clegane), Kristofer Hivju (Tormund Giantsbane), Hannah Murray (Gilly), Iain Glen (Jorah Mormont), Pilou Asbæk (Euron Greyjoy), Joe Dempsie (Gendry), Richard Dormer (Beric Dondarrion), Jacob Anderson (Grey Worm), Anton Lesser (Qyburn), Daniel Portman (Podrick Payne), Gemma Whelan (Yara Greyjoy), Hafbor Júlíus Björnsson (Gregor ‘The Mountain’ Clegane) and Vladimir ‘Furdo’ Furdik (The Night King).
