Mismatched brothers Sacha Baron Cohen and Mark Strong team up in crude trailer for The Brothers Grimsby

Sacha Baron Cohen is no stranger to controversy especially following his roles in Borat (2006), Bruno (2009) and The Dictator (2012).

But the comedian actor is now turning his attention from offending homosexuals and religion to taking the mick out of one of Britain’s major towns, Grimsby.

This is all in aid of next year’s crude action comedy which sees Cohen and a surprisingly random cast appear in The Brothers Grimsby.

A full-length trailer for the film can be seen below….

Helmed by Louis Leterrier (The Transporter, Now You See Me), the film stars Mark Strong (Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, The Imitation Game) as a deadly MI6 agent who ends up reuniting with his dim-witted brother (Cohen) after 28 years apart. The unlikely pair find themselves having to prevent a global terrorist attack from taking place with various mishaps occurring along the way.

Oscar-winner Penelope Cruz (Vicky Christina Barcelona, 2oolander) features as the film’s villain with additional acting support coming from Rebel Wilson (Bridesmaids, Pitch Perfect), Isla Fisher (Wedding Crashers, Now You See Me), Gabourey Sidibe (Precious, Seven Psychopaths), Ian McShane (Deadwood, Ray Donovan), Tamsin Egerton (Keeping Mum, Camelot), Annabelle Wallis (The Tudors, Peaky Blinders) and David Harewood (Homeland, Supergirl).

There are also bizarre yet welcoming appearances from British comedians Johnny Vegas (Ideal, Benidorm) and Ricky Tomlinson (The Royle Family, Mike Bassett: England Manager) as a pair of Grimsby locals. The latter’s role has already caused controversy with reports that the character’s name is ‘Paedo Pete’.

The Brothers Grimsby will be released in the UK in February.
