Michael Fassbender portrays Apple CEO Steve Jobs in official trailer for Danny Boyle’s ‘Steve Jobs’

Back in January, it was confirmed that British actor Michael Fassbender (12 Years a Slave, X-Men: Days of Future Past) would be tackling the role of the late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs in a new big-screen biopic simply entitled ‘Steve Jobs‘.

Several months later, fans are finally getting the chance to see Fassbender don the black turtleneck in the film’s official trailer which premiered earlier today.

Directed by Oscar-winner Danny Boyle (Trainspotting, Slumdog Millionaire) and written by Aaron Sorkin (The West Wing, The Newsroom), the biopic focuses on Jobs’ involvement with launching three major Apple products over the course of 15 years; the Macintosh (1984), NeXT (1988) and the iMac (1998).

The film also depicts his complicated relationships with various colleagues during that period including fellow Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak and former Macintosh marketing chief Joanna Hoffman.

Seth Rogen (Knocked Up, The Interview) and Oscar-winner Kate Winslet (Titanic, The Reader) appear as Wozniak and Hoffman with the rest of the starry ensemble including Jeff Daniels (Dumb and Dumber, The Newsroom) as ex-Apple CEO John Sculley, Katherine Waterston (The Babysitters, Inherent Vice) as Jobs’s former partner Chrisann Brennan and Michael Stuhlbarg (A Serious Man, Boardwalk Empire) as early Mac developer Andy Hertzfeld.

Steve Jobs will be released in the UK on November 13th.
