Lately, Keira Knightley has found herself working on a couple of politically-charged films in the romance The Aftermath and the political drama Official Secrets.

The Oscar-nominated star of Pride & Prejudice (2005), Atonement (2007) and The Imitation Game (2014) is now taking centre stage as feminist activist Sally Alexander in the upcoming British biopic Misbehaviour.

Touching on women’s rights and racism, the 70s based drama has unveiled its official trailer.

Directed by BAFTA-winner Philippa Lowthorpe (Five Daughters, Three Girls), the film centres on Alexander as she hatched a plot with a group of women to disrupt the 1970 Miss World beauty competition in London.

Knightley is joined by a starry support cast which includes Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Concussion, Motherless Brooklyn), Jessie Buckley (Wild Rose, Judy), Greg Kinnear (As Good as It Gets, Little Miss Sunshine), Lesley Manville (Phantom Thread, Mum), Keeley Hawes (The Durrells, Bodyguard), Rhys Ifans (Notting Hill, Berlin Station), Suki Waterhouse (The White Princess, Pokémon Detective Pikachu), Emma Corrin (Pennyworth, The Crown) and BAFTA-winner Phyllis Logan (Secrets & Lies, Downton Abbey).

Misbehaviour will be released in the UK on 13 March 2020.
