A thrilling new trailer has premiered for Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire.

The follow-up to the 2021 flick Ghostbusters: Afterlife is the fifth installment of the renowned Ghostbusters franchise and will make its bow next year; forty years after the original film first arrived in cinemas!

Directed by Gil Kenan (Monster House, City of Ember), the plot sees the Spengler family return to the iconic New York City firehouse where the original Ghostbusters have taken ghost-busting to the next level. When the discovery of an ancient artefact unleashes an evil force, Ghostbusters new and old must unite to protect their home and save the world from a second ice age.

Afterlife stars Paul Rudd (Gary Grooberson), Carrie Coon (Callie Spengler), Finn Wolfhard (Trevor Spengler), Mckenna Grace (Phoebe Spengler), Celeste O’Connor (Lucky Domingo) and Logan Kim (Podcast) all return for the follow-up alongside Ghostbusters veterans Dan Aykroyd (Dr. Raymond “Ray” Stantz), Ernie Hudson (Dr. Winston Zeddemore), Annie Potts (Janine Melnitz), Bill Murray (Dr. Peter Venkman), and William Atherton (Walter Peck).

Additionally, the film also welcomes new additions in Kumail Nanjiani (Silicon Valley, Eternals), Patton Oswalt (Ratatouille, Young Adult), Emily Alyn Lind (Doctor Sleep, Gossip Girl) and British comedian James Acaster (Josh, Cinderella).

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire will swoop into UK cinemas on 29 March 2024.
