Former Home and Away star Luke Bracey goes undercover in official trailer for Point Break reboot

For many actors from Australian soaps, it is a mighty feat when a few of them get the chance to do great things with their careers afterwards. Some stars from Neighbours did it including Kylie Minogue, Russell Crowe and the beautiful Margot Robbie whilst Home and Away helped Chris Hemsworth, Isla Fisher and the late Heath Ledger become big successes too.

On the subject of the latter soap, it looks as though Summer Bay will be producing another upcoming star in the form of Luke Bracey (G:I Joe: Retaliation), who played Trey Palmer in over 200 episodes.

The young Australian actor will be tackling the lead role in the much-publicised reboot of Kathryn Bigelow’s 1991 action-thriller Point Break.

Rock climbing, sky diving and surfing are amongst the main attractions of the remake’s official trailer.

Directed by cinematographer Ericson Core (Daredevil), the plot sees FBI agent Johnny Utah (Bracey) having to go undercover in order to infiltrate a criminal gang who are planning to pull off a major heist.

Bracey takes on the role that was previously played by Keanu Reeves while Edgar Ramírez (The Bourne Ultimatum, Vantage Point) portrays the gang leader Bodhi, who was originally played by the late Patrick Swayze.

Ray Winstone (Nil by Mouth, The Departed), Teresa Palmer (Wolf Creek, Warm Bodies) and Delroy Lindo (Gone in 60 Seconds, Believe) also feature in the remake which is scheduled for release in the UK on January 9 2016.
