A few years ago, Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones took centre stage as Stephen Hawking and his former partner Jane Wilde respectively in the Oscar-winning biopic The Theory of Everything (2014). The pair produced great chemistry in the film with Redmayne landing the Best Actor Oscar for his portrayal of the renowned genius.
The pair have now reunited for another project based on true events in the form of The Aeronauts which is helmed by Tom Harper (Peaky Blinders, Wild Rose).
Backed by Amazon Studios, the film’s official trailer has landed and shows the two stars encounter danger up in the skies.
Set in the 19th century, the real-life adventure stars Jones (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, A Monster Calls) and Redmayne (Les Miserables, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald) as a young widow and a headstrong scientist as they mount a balloon expedition to fly higher than anyone in history.
The journey proves a challenging one as the pair encounter danger whilst discovering things about each other that helps each of them find their place in the world they have left behind.
Fresh from his lead role in the Beatles-based rom-com Yesterday, Himesh Patel co-stars in the film along with Tim McInnery (Blackadder, Eddie the Eagle), Phoebe Fox (Eye in the Sky, Curfew), Rebecca Front (The Thick of It, Poldark), Robert Glenister (Hustle, Paranoid), Anne Reid (The Mother, Last Tango in Paris) and Tom Courtenay (Doctor Zhivago, The Dresser).
The Aeronauts will take flight in UK cinemas on November 6.
