With four months still to go until the much-anticipated return of Game of Thrones, the beautiful Emilia Clarke will be keeping her fans busy in the build-up to Series 7 with her latest big-screen role.
The Emmy-nominated star, who portrays Daenerys “Khaleesi” Targaryen in the hit HBO series, has had mixed success with her film projects so far which include Spike Island (2012), Terminator Genisys (2015) and last year’s Me Before You (2016).
But her latest role takes her on a more sinister path as she headlines the upcoming supernatural thriller Voice from the Stone. The official trailer has now been released and can be seen below.
Directed by rookie filmmaker Eric D. Howell (From Heaven to Hell) and adapted from Silvio Raffo’s book, the plot sees Emilia play Verena, a nurse who is hired to work at a castle in 1950s Tuscany. There she tries to help a young boy who has not spoken since the death of his mother a year earlier. But when he starts hearing his mother’s voice from within the walls, Verena must uncover the truth before she too is consumed by the spirit’s force.
Emilia is joined in the film by an unfamiliar support cast which includes Marton Csokas (Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Equalizer), Caterina Murino (Casino Royale, St Trinian’s), Kate Linder (The Young and the Restless, Miss Meadows), Lisa Gastoni (Come Play With Me, Submission) and newcomer Edward Dring.
A UK release date is not yet known for Voice from the Stone but it will be out in America in late April.
