Having concluded her risque work as Anastasia Steele in the successful Fifty Shades trilogy, Dakota Johnson is now turning to horror for her next major project.
The Hollywood beauty is taking centre stage in the upcoming thriller Suspiria which is directed by Luca Guadagnino. The Italian filmmaker recently helmed the Oscar-winning drama Call Me By Your Name (2017) and previously worked with Johnson on the indie-drama A Bigger Splash (2016).
Amazon Studios have unveiled an unsettling trailer for the remake which can be viewed below:
The plot sees Johnson play Susie Bannon, a ballet student who joins a prestigious dance company in Germany. But after a series of deaths and mysterious events, Johnson’s character learns the academy and its staff aren’t exactly as they seem.
Oscar-winner Tilda Swinton (We Need To Talk About Kevin, Doctor Strange) co-stars as Madame Blanc alongside Chloe Grace Moretz (Kick-Ass, Carrie), Mia Goth (Nymphomaniac, A Cure for Wellness) and veteran newcomer Lutz Ebersdorf.
There is also a role in the film for Jessica Harper who previously portrayed the character of Susy in Dario Argento’s 1977 cult classic.
Suspiria has no official UK date as of yet but will be released in the US on November 2nd.
