Ben Whishaw voices Paddington Bear in official trailer for Paddington

Britain’s favourite fictional bear is set to finally make his big-screen debut before this year concludes.

Paddington Bear, who first came to promise way back in 1958, embarks on an epic adventure in the upcoming live-action flick with British actor Ben Whishaw (Skyfall, Cloud Atlas) given the crucial task of voicing him.

A full-length trailer for the delightul-looking film premiered earlier today.

Directed by Paul King (The Mighty Boosh, Come Fly With Me), the story sees Paddington journey from his Peruvian home to London where he ends up staying with the friendly Brown family. However his presence soon attracts attention from a cunning museum curator.

Hugh Bonneville (Downton Abbey, The Monuments Men) and Sally Hawkins (Happy-Go-Lucky, Blue Jasmine) play Mr and Mrs Brown respectively with Oscar-winner Nicole Kidman (The Hours, Australia) portraying the villainous Millicent.

Additional casting support also comes from Jim Broadbent (Iris, Cloud Atlas), Peter Capaldi (In the Loop, Doctor Who), Michael Gambon (Harry Potter series, The King’s Speech), Imelda Staunton (Vera Drake, Maleficent) and Julie Walters (Harry Potter series, Mamma Mia!).

Whishaw took on the voice role of Paddington after original choice Colin Firth dropped out earlier this year.

Paddington will be released in the UK on November 28th.
