The rebirth of the Jurassic Park series has proved a bit of a mixed bag for loyal fans so far.
Though 2015’s Jurassic World was a huge box-office success, its follow-up Fallen Kingdom (2018) ended up being a monster disappointment to critics and audiences.
But with a third film in the prehistoric series heading into production, director Colin Trevorrow has now sought the help of a few familiar faces that will surely bolster its hype.
Speaking at a screening last night, Trevorrow has officially confirmed that Jurassic Park veterans Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum are all set to reprise their iconic roles for the upcoming Jurassic World 3.
Neill and Dern played the key roles of palaeontologists Dr. Alan Grant and Ellie Sattler in the original Jurassic Park (1993) and its underwhelming sequel Jurassic Park III (2001). As mathematician Ian Malcolm, Goldblum also featured in Jurassic Park and its follow-up The Lost World (1997) as well as making a cameo in last year’s Fallen Kingdom.
The climax of that previous instalment saw dinosaurs released into the wild which is likely to be the focus of the sequels’ plot.
Neill, Dern and Goldblum will join Jurassic World stars Chris Pratt (Owen Grady) and Bryce Dallas Howard (Claire Dearing) in the film which is due for release on June 11 2021.
