James Nelson-Joyce contemplates a future away from his criminal organisation in This City is Ours trailer

The official trailer for This City is Ours has landed.

Filmed in Liverpool, the eight-part crime drama bolsters a stellar cast and is already earning comparisons to the acclaimed HBO series The Sopranos. Is right!

Created by Stephen Butchard (Five Daughters, Good Cop), the plot centres on a seasoned member of organised crime who decides to re-evaluate his life and contemplate a future beyond his criminal activities. However, complications quickly arise when he finds himself caught in a power struggle with his boss’s ambitious son.

Prolific Liverpudlian star James Nelson-Joyce (Little Boy Blue, Time) and BAFTA-winning veteran Sean Bean (Sharpe, Broken) lead the upcoming series alongside a stellar cast that includes Hannah Onslow (This is Going to Hurt, Belgravia: The Next Chapter), Jack McMullen (Waterloo Road, Time), Darci Shaw (The Bay, A Thousand Blows), Julie Graham (William and Mary, Shetland), Laura Aikman (Gavin & Stacey, Archie), Stephen Walters (Outlander, Anne), Saoirse Monica-Jackson (Derry Girls, The Decameron), Mike Noble (Home Fires, Help), Bobby Schofield (SAS Rogue Heroes, The Walk-In), Kevin Harvey (Prey, Treason), Daniel Cerqueira (The Spanish Princess, A Gentleman in Moscow), and Leanne Best (Line of Duty, G’wed).

This City is Ours will air its first episode on BBC One from 23 March, with all episodes available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
