Parks and Recreation star Chris Pratt has revealed that he will star in the lead role of the upcoming Jurassic Park sequel, Jurassic World.
Pratt, who is also best known for his film work in Moneyball and Zero Dark Thirty, confirmed his casting following several months of rumoured speculation.
“It’s a big deal for me to be any part of that, let alone this part I’m going to be playing. I’m thrilled about it. Everybody around the world knows that franchise. When you say Jurassic Park, no-one is like, ‘What’s Jurassic Park?’ More people know Jurassic Park than just about anything. I’m thrilled.”
Colin Trevorrow will direct the fourth film of the prehistoric franchise which is set for release in 2015.
Original actors Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum have all been tipped to reprise their roles from the classic 1993 blockbuster.
In the meantime, Pratt is involved in the lead roles of two other upcoming blockbusters; The Lego Movie and Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.
