Having concluded the story of one DC Comics superhero last year, filmmaker Christopher Nolan has currently been preoccupied with another after his recent involvement with the summer box-office smash Man of Steel.
The reboot, which focused on the origins of Superman, is already set to gain a sequel that is due for release in 2015. But DC Comic fans will be fascinated by what else is happening…..
At Comic Con today, it was announced by director Zack Snyder that Batman will be making a swift return to the big-screen. Man of Steel actor Harry Lennix read out a message to the audience quoting Frank Miller’s Dark Knight Returns with an image of the superheroes logos being merged.
“I want you to remember Clark. In all the years to come. In all your private moments. I want to you remember my hand at your throat. I want you to remember, the one man who beat you.”
Snyder and writer David Goyer will again be contributing to the sequel with Nolan set to continue acting as executive producer.
In the meantime, the role of Bruce Wayne/Batman looks likely to be taken on by a different actor after previous star Christian Bale recently revealed his decision not to play the character again.
We can only hope that Joseph Gordon-Levitt takes on the responsibility of the Caped Crusader to add a bit of continuity to the Nolan comic-book film world!
