A new trailer has premiered for Maria.

The upcoming factual drama is the third and final film of Pablo Larraín’s trilogy about iconic 20th century iconic women, following the recent successes of Jackie (2016) and Spencer (2021).

This time around, his latest effort explores the complicated story of opera singer Maria Callas, who was considered the greatest of her profession.

The film focuses on the final years of Callas’ life as she recounts her struggles with scandal and the flaws she experienced with her monumental voice.

Oscar-winning star Angelina Jolie (Girl, Interrupted, Changeling) portrays La Divina and is joined in the cast by Pierfrancesco Favino (Angels & Demons, Rush), Alba Rohrwacher (I Am Love, My Brilliant Friend), Haluk Bilginer (EastEnders, Ben-Hur), Kodi Smit-McPhee (Let Me In, The Power of the Dog) and Valeria Golino (Rain Man, Hot Shots!).

Maria will arrive in UK cinemas on 10 January 2025.
