A wild trailer for Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew has landed.

Helmed by renowned filmmaker Greta Gerwig (Lady Bird, Barbie), the upcoming fantasy adventure is based on the 1955 novel of the same name and is chronologically the first story of the beloved Chronicles of Narnia book series by C. S. Lewis.

The plot centres on two children who find themselves ensnared in experimental travel via “the wood between the worlds” as they come across various beings including the White Witch and Aslan the Lion.

Young stars David McKenna (The Lord of the Flies) and Beatrice Campbell (The Stolen Girl, The Phoenician Scheme) lead the film’s cast as Digory and Polly and are joined by Emma Mackey (Sex Education, Emily) as Jadis, Carey Mulligan (An Education, Promising Young Woman) as Flora Kirke, Daniel Craig (Knives Out trilogy, No Time to Die) as Andrew Ketterley, and the legendary Meryl Streep (Sophie’s Choice, The Devil Wears Prada) as the voice of Aslan.

This new outing marks the fourth cinematic adaptation of a Narnia novel following the previous takes on The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (2005), Prince Caspian (2008) and The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (2010).

In the meantime, UK audiences will get a chance to revisit the world of Narnia when The Magician’s Nephew arrives in cinemas on 11 February 2027.
