An exhilarating trailer has landed for Black Doves.

The upcoming spy thriller is looking to bring a strong conclusion to what has been an impressive year in television for Netflix.

Created by Joe Barton (Giri/Haji, The Lazarus Project), the plot centres on a spy posing as a politician’s wife who learns that her secret lover has been murdered. Aided by an old assassin friend, she embarks on a quest for the truth – and vengeance.

Oscar nominee Keira Knightley (Pride and Prejudice, The Imitation Game) and three-time BAFTA winner Ben Whishaw (A Very English Scandal, This is Going to Hurt) lead the cast alongside three-time BAFTA winner Sarah Lancashire (Happy Valley, Julia).

Additionally, the rest of the starry ensemble includes Andrew Buchan (Garrow’s Law, Broadchurch), Kathryn Hunter (The Tragedy of Macbeth, Poor Things), Ella Lily Hyland (Fifteen-Love, Silent Roar), Gabrielle Creevy (In My Skin, Three Women), Omari Douglas (It’s a Sin, Rye Lane), Andrew Koji (Warrior, Bullet Train), Luther Ford (The Crown), Paapa Essiedu (I May Destroy You, The Lazarus Project), Finn Bennett (Kiri, True Detective: Night Country), Tracey Ullman (The Tracey Ullman Show, Mrs. America), Sam Troughton (Chernobyl, Mank), Adam Silver (The Diplomat, Masters of the Air), Ken Nwosu (Hollington Drive, The Winter King), Agnes O’Casey (Ridley Road, Lies We Tell) and two-time BAFTA winner Adeel Akhtar (Murdered by My Father, Sherwood).

With a second series already confirmed, all six episodes of Black Doves will be available to watch on Netflix from 5 December.
