Jake Sully and the Na’vi are confronted by an aggressive new tribe in official trailer for Avatar: Fire and Ash

A breathtaking trailer has landed for Avatar: Fire and Ash.

The upcoming ‘threequel’ is the third installment of James Cameron’s epic sci-fi series, which has already broken one or two records at the worldwide box-office since the first film was released back in 2009.

Directed again by Cameron, the plot sees the conflict on Pandora escalate as Jake Sully, Neytiri and their family encounter a dangerous, new Na’vi tribe.

As expected, Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldaña are back as Jake and Neytiri respectively while Sigourney Weaver (Kiri), Stephen Lang (Colonel Miles Quaritch), Giovanni Ribisi (Parker Selfridge), Kate Winslet (Ronal), Cliff Curtis (Tonowari), Joel David Moore (Dr. Norm Spellman), CCH Pounder (Mo’at), Edie Falco (General Frances Ardmore), Brendan Cowell (Captain Mick Scoresby), Jemaine Clement (Dr. Ian Garvin), Britain Dalton (Lo’ak), Trinity Jo-Li Bliss (Tuktirey), Jack Champion (Miles “Spider” Socorro), Bailey Bass (Tsireya), Filip Geljo (Ao’nung), Duane Evans Jr. (Rotxo), Dileep Rao (Dr. Max Patel) and Matt Gerald (Corporal Lyle Wainfleet) also reprise their roles.

Additionally, David Thewlis (Harry Potter series, Wonder Woman) and Oona Chaplin (Game of Thrones, Taboo) have been cast as the two antagonists of the new sequel.

Avatar: Fire and Ash (or Dances with Smurfs 3 to some folk!) will arrive in UK cinemas on 19 December.
