A witty new trailer has premiered for The Thursday Murder Club.
Drawing comparisons to Only Murders in the Building, the upcoming crime comedy is based on the lauded 2020 novel from former Pointless presenter Richard Osman.
Directed by Chris Columbus (Home Alone, Mrs. Doubtfire), the plot centres on a group of irrepressible retirees who spend their time solving cold case murders for fun. However, their casual sleuthing soon takes a thrilling turn when they find themselves drawn into a live investigation.
Dame Helen Mirren (Prime Suspect series, The Queen), Pierce Brosnan (James Bond series, MobLand), Sir Ben Kingsley (Gandhi, Sexy Beast), and Celia Imrie (Bridget Jones series, Calendar Girls) lead the film’s impressive cast which also includes David Tennant (Broadchurch, Rivals), Jonathan Pryce (The Two Popes, Slow Horses), Naomi Ackie (The End of the F***ing World, I Wanna Dance with Somebody), Daniel Mays (Vera Drake, Line of Duty), Paul Freeman (Raiders of the Lost Ark, Hot Fuzz), Henry Lloyd-Hughes (The Inbetweeners, We Were the Lucky Ones), Tom Ellis (Miranda, Lucifer), Geoff Bell (Mike Bassett: England Manager, MobLand), Sarah Niles (Ted Lasso, F1), and Richard E. Grant (Withnail & I, Can You Ever Forgive Me?).
The Thursday Murder Club will be available to stream on Netflix on 28 August.
