The official trailer for Christy has arrived.

The upcoming sports biopic explores the life of renowned female boxer Christy Martin, with headline-making Hollywood star Sydney Sweeney (Euphoria, Anyone But You) taking centre stage as the former super welterweight titleholder.

Directed by David Michôd (Animal Kingdom, The King), the film focuses on how Martin rose to success as a fighter in the 1990s only to see her life threatened by her abusive coach-turned-husband James V. Martin.

Sweeney, who has generated Oscar buzz for her performance, leads the cast alongside Ben Foster (Lone Survivor, Hell or High Water), Merritt Wever (Nurse Jackie, Marriage Story), Katy O’Brian (The Mandalorian, Love Lies Bleeding), Ethan Embry (Grace and Frankie, First Man), and Chad L. Coleman (The Wire, The Walking Dead).

Christy will be released in the UK on 28 November.
