Renate Reinsve struggles to reconnect with distant father Stellan Skarsgård in Sentimental Value trailer

The official trailer for Sentimental Value is here.

The Norwegian comedy-drama is the latest big-screen offering from renowned filmmaker Joachim Trier (Oslo, August 31st, The Worst Person in the World) and is tipped to be a major awards player after its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival.

The plot explores the deeply-fractured relationship between two estranged sisters, and their distant father, a once-famous but now almost forgotten film director.

BAFTA nominee Renate Reinsve (The Worst Person in the World, A Different Man) and Golden Globe winner Stellan Skarsgård (Breaking the Waves, Chernobyl) lead the film’s cast and are joined by Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas (The Last Key, A Beautiful Life), Elle Fanning (The Great, A Complete Unknown), Cory Michael Smith (First Man, Saturday Night) and Anders Danielsen Lie (22 July, Mothers’ Instinct).

As of now, a release date for Sentimental Value is likely to come before the end of this year.
