Paul Mescal, Joseph Quinn, Barry Keoghan and Harris Dickinson cast as Fab Four in Beatles biopics

It’s official, the upcoming Beatles biopics have finally unveiled the talented actors cast as the Fab Four.

Following months and months of speculation, it has now been confirmed that BAFTA winner Paul Mescal (Normal People, Aftersun), Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things, The Fantastic Four: First Steps), BAFTA winner Barry Keoghan (The Banshees of Inishern, Saltburn) and Harris Dickinson (Triangle of Sadness, Babygirl) will play the respective roles of Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Ringo Starr and John Lennon.

Oscar-winning filmmaker Sam Mendes (American Beauty, 1917) made a surprise appearance on stage with his Fab Four at CinemaCon in Las Vegas on Monday night.

During his speech, Mendes confirmed that his four biopics, which will each focus on one member of the band, will all come out in the same month: April 2028.

He also added that he had tried to make a whole film about the band for years before finally giving up, and further explained that he didn’t want to make it as a miniseries.

On stage, Mescal, Quinn, Keoghan and Dickinson recited from the band’s song Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band: “It’s wonderful to be here, it’s certainly a thrill, you’re such a lovely audience, we’d like to take you home with us.”

Mendes’ project already has the blessing of McCartney and Starr, as well as the families of John Lennon and George Harrison. It also marks the first time that they, and rights holders Apple, have granted full life story and music rights for a scripted film.

Though none of the four stars are from Liverpool, here’s hoping that the actors are committed to their roles…and work on those scouse accents!
