A thrilling new trailer has arrived for The Bride.
The upcoming monster flick is the second feature film from actress-turned-filmmaker Maggie Gyllenhaal (The Lost Daughter) and draws inspiration from James Whale’s 1935 horror classic Bride of Frankenstein.
Set in 1930s Chicago, the plot centres on a scientist who brings a murdered woman back to life to be a companion for Frankenstein’s monster, which sparks romance, police interest and radical social change.
Current awards darling Jessie Buckley (Wild Rose, Hamnet) and Oscar winner Christian Bale (The Dark Knight trilogy, The Fighter) lead the film’s impressive cast which also includes Peter Sarsgaard (The Batman, Presumed Innocent), Annette Bening (American Beauty, Captain Marvel), Jake Gyllenhaal (Brokeback Mountain Nightcrawler) and Oscar winner Penélope Cruz (Vicky Cristina Barcelona, Ferrari).
The Bride will be released in the UK on 6 March.
