A lengthy yet action-packed trailer has landed for Superman.
The latest reboot of the iconic superhero series introduces audiences to another new take on the beloved comic-book story, with a fresh face taking on the red cape.
Written and directed by James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy, The Suicide Squad), the story explores Clark Kent and his alter-ego Superman’s journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his adoptive human family in Smallville, Kansas.
On this occasion, the lucrative role of our titular hero is taken by David Corenswet, who has shown early promise in his acting career with performances in The Politician (2019-20), Twisters (2024) and Lady in the Lake (2024).
Corenswet is the latest star to portray the Man of Steel and follows in the footsteps of the likes of Christopher Reeve, Brandon Routh and more recently, Henry Cavill.
Additionally, the rest of the film’s cast includes Emmy winner Rachel Brosnahan (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, The Courier) as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult (The Great, Nosferatu) as Lex Luthor, Edi Gathegi (Twilight series, X-Men: First Class) as Michael Holt / Mister Terrific, Anthony Carrigan (Gotham, Barry) as Rex Mason / Metamorpho, Nathan Fillon (Firefly, The Rookie) as Guy Gardner / Green Lantern, Isabela Merced (Alien: Romulus, The Last of Us) as Hawkgirl, Frank Grillo (The Grey, Captain America: The Winter Soldier) as Rick Flag Sr. and Milly Alcock (Uptight, House of the Dragon) as Kara Zor-El / Supergirl.
Superman will soar its way into UK cinemas on 11 July.
