Daniel Day-Lewis makes his acting comeback as a hermit in Anemone trailer

An official trailer for Anemone has been unveiled.

The upcoming drama marks a long-awaited comeback to the big-screen for legendary film actor Daniel Day-Lewis (My Left Foot, There Will Be Blood, Lincoln) after an eight-year ‘retirement’.

In addition to starring, the three-time Oscar winner has also co-written the script alongside his son Ronan Day-Lewis, who is directing his first feature film.

The plot centres on a middle-aged man who sets out from his suburban home on a journey into the woods, where he reconnects with his estranged hermit brother (Day-Lewis). Bonded by a mysterious, complicated past, the men share a difficult relationship that was forever altered by shattering events decades earlier.

Two-time BAFTA winner Sean Bean (The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Time) co-stars alongside Day-Lewis, while the rest of the cast includes Samantha Morton (In America, Longford), Samuel Bottomley (Somewhere Boy, How to Have Sex) and Safia Oakley-Green (Out of Darkness, The Lazarus Project).

Anemone is scheduled for release in the UK on 7 November.
