The official trailer for Megalopolis is here, and opens with a cheeky dig to the critics of old.
Directed by celebrated filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola (The Godfather trilogy, Apocalypse Now), the sci-fi epic has been a long-time passion project for the Oscar-winning director.
The plot focuses on an idealistic architect with the power to control time who sets out to rebuild a metropolis city as a utopia following a devastating disaster.
Prolific actor Adam Driver (Marriage Story, Ferrari) leads the film’s starry cast alongside Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad, The Mandalorian), Nathalie Emmanuel (Game of Thrones, Fast and Furious series), Aubrey Plaza (Emily the Criminal, The White Lotus), Shia LaBeouf (Transformers, Honey Boy), Jason Schwartzman (Rushmore, Asteroid City), Talia Shire (The Godfather trilogy, Rocky series), Grace VanderWaal (Stargirl), Laurence Fishburne (What’s Love Got to Do With It?, The Matrix trilogy), Kathryn Hunter (The Tragedy of Macbeth, Poor Things), and Oscar winners Jon Voight (Midnight Cowboy, Coming Home) and Dustin Hoffman (The Graduate, Rain Man).
Megalopolis is scheduled for release in the UK on 27 September.
