Away from the talent and prestige of the Oscars, the not-so great films this year have been dishonoured for their pathetic efforts at the 2013 Golden Raspberry Awards which were also held last night.

Twilight fans will be relieved that their franchise won’t be ridiculed any longer after the final film of the series, Breaking Dawn Part II, was awarded seven wins including the Worst Picture award as well as two acting ‘wins’. The other woeful films that were in contention for the main prize were Battleship, The Oogieloves in Big Balloon Adventure, That’s My Boy and A Thousand Words.

Film-maker Bill Condon went from Oscar-winner to Razzie-loser as he was named Worst Director for the concluding Twilight film while leading star Kristen Stewart rounded off a frustrating 12 months by being named Worst Actress for her role as Bella and for her performance as Snow White in Snow White and the Huntsman. The other actresses fortunate to avoid ridicule in that category included Katherine Heigl (One for the Money) and Milla Jovovich (Resident Evil: Retribution).

Stewart’s co-star (and real-life boyfriend) Robert Pattinson managed to be spared from winning the Worst Actor prize which instead was given to Adam Sandler for his lead role in That’s My Boy which also won Worst Screenplay. The previous year, Sandler was humiliated when he was lavished with many Razzie’s for his film Jack & Jill. Nicolas Cage and Eddie Murphy were other high profile names to miss out on embarrassment.

Taylor Lautner finally won his first Razzie award in the Worst Supporting Actor category for his role in Breaking Dawn Part II beating off the likes of David Hasslehoff (Piranha 3DD) and Liam Neeson (Battleship, Wrath of the Titans). He also shared the Worst Screen couple award with co-star Mackenzie Foy with the vampire/wolf blockbuster rounded off its poor night with extra wins for Worst Ensemble and Worst Remake, Rip-Off or Sequel.

Pop-star Rhianna was also ridiculed as she was named Worst Supporting Actress for her role as a female Marine in the action-blockbuster flop Battleship (beating off fellow musician-turned-actress Jennifer Lopez).
