T’Challa fights to protect Wakanda from new enemies in official trailer for Marvel’s Black Panther

With Avengers: Infinity War over a year away, Marvel are continuing to build up its growing hype by releasing a few more films beforehand.

Following his impressive debut in last year’s Captain America: Civil War, T’Challa a.k.a Black Panther is back for his own origin film which is due out early next year.

Played again by Chadwick Boseman, the new king of fictional African nation Wakanda takes centre stage in the upcoming Black Panther which has unveiled its official trailer online.

Directed by Ryan Coogler (Fruitvale Station, Creed), the plot sees T’Challa return to Wakanda to serve as its new leader. However he soon finds himself being challenged for the throne from enemies within his own country. He is then forced to team up with the CIA and members of the Dora Milaje in order to prevent Wakanda from being dragged into a world war.

As is the usual case with Marvel films these days, Black Panther boasts a strong lineup of new cast members which include Michael B. Jordan (Fantastic Four, Creed), Angela Bassett (What’s Love Got to Do With It?, American Horror Story), Daniel Kaluuya (Sicario, Get Out), Winston Duke (Person of Interest, Modern Family), Sterling K. Brown (The People v O.J. Simpson, This Is Us) and Oscar-winners Lupita Nyong’o (12 Years a Slave, Star Wars: The Force Awakens) and Forest Whitaker (The Last King of Scotland, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story).

There are also returns for previous Marvel actors like Martin Freeman (Everett K. Ross), Danai Gurira (Okoye) and Andy Serkis (Ulysses Klaue).

Black Panther will be released in the UK on 16th February 2018.
