Razzie nominations: Fifty Shades of Grey leads ‘worst film’ lineup

Despite becoming one of the biggest box-office hits of 2015, the romantic blockbuster Fifty Shades of Grey will be feeling rather dirty today after scoring six nominations in this year’s Golden Raspbery Award line-up.

As expected, it is up for Worst Film but is also mentioned in Worst Director for Sam Taylor-Johnson, Worst Actor for Jamie Dornan and Worst Actress for Dakota Johnson.

There are also six mentions for the Wachowski sibling’s fantasy flop Jupiter Ascending which also made the Worst Film lineup. Last year’s Best Actor Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne has the misfortune of being nodded in Worst Supporting Actor with co-stars Channing Tatum (Worst Actor) and Mila Kunis (Worst Actress) also ridiculed.

The Worst Film lineup is completed by the Marvel failure Fantastic Four as well as comedy failures Pixels and Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2.

Kevin James endured a bad day with Worst Actor/Supporting Actor mentions for those aforementioned films while multiple Razzie winner Adam Sandler was once again nodded for his work on Pixels and The Cobbler.

Johnny Depp completes a woeful Worst Actor lineup with his role in the critically-panned Mortdecai with co-star Gwyneth Paltrow competing in a Worst Actress category that also includes Katherine Heigl and Jennifer Lopez.

There’s also a couple of mentions for Pan stars Rooney Mara and Amanda Seyfried as they contest the Worst Supporting Actress category along with last year’s Best Actress Oscar winner Julianne Moore (Seventh Son) and The Big Bang Theory’s Kaley Cuoco for her roles in Alvin and the Chipmunks 4: Road Chip and The Wedding Ringer.

However the Razzie’s have also done a decent thing by nominating previous recipients Will Smith and Sylvester Stallone in the Redeemer category for their well-received comeback roles in Concussion and Creed.
