Pixar reveals its next three films

In the past 25 years, Pixar have been going strong with a valuable lineup of wonderful family films which include the Toy Story trilogy, Finding Nemo and Wall-E. However the major Disney company are continuing to grow in terms of new stories after they announced the arrival of three new releases due out in the next few years.

The first of those, an untitled film about the dinosaurs, has now been named as The Good Dinosaur which will be released on May 30th 2014 and will focus on an alternative world where the dinosaurs avoided extinction after the asteroid missed Earth. Up co-director Bob Peterson will direct the it.

The second film will look at the Dia de los Muertos, a Mexican holiday celebration where family and friends gather together to remember lost loved ones. No official release date has been given yet though Toy Story 3 director Lee Unkrich is attached to direct.

And finally the official director of Up, Pete Docter will be releasing his own Pixar film which will “take you to a place that everyone knows, but no-one has ever seen: the world inside the human mind”. Release date is June 19th, 2015.

So exciting times ahead for one of cinema’s most beloved film companies with three highly anticipated new films to be unveiled to the world within the next five years. In the meantime, audiences can look forward to the upcoming Scottish-themed animation Brave which is due out in a couple of months time!
