Paddington Bear comes up against a new villain in Paddington 2 trailer

Everyone’s favourite marmalade-loving bear is back as Paddington Bear makes his big-screen return next month.

Voiced again by Ben Whishaw, the lovable furry hero enjoyed a splendid big-screen debut in the 2014 hit Paddington and is now preparing for a new adventure in the upcoming Paddington 2.

An official trailer for the film has now been released which promises plenty of fun and mischief for all involved.

Directed by the returning Paul King (The Mighty Boosh, Come Fly With Me) and adapted from the cherished work of Michael Bond, the plot sees Paddington take on a number of jobs (including window-cleaning) so that he can purchase a pop-up book to give to his beloved Aunt Lucy (voiced again by Imelda Staunton) for her 100th birthday. However disaster strikes when the book is stolen which leads to Paddington and the Brown family having to track down the thief.

Popular British actor Hugh Grant (Four Weddings and a Funeral, Love Actually, Florence Foster Jenkins) is the high profile addition to the cast as devious entertainer Phoenix Buchanan with Brendan Gleeson (Harry Potter series, Suffragette), Richard Ayoade (The IT Crowd, The Crystal Maze), Jessica Hynes (Spaced, The Royle Family), Joanna Lumley (Absolutely Fabulous, James and the Giant Peach) and Sanjeev Bhaskar (The Kumars, Unforgotten) amongst the other newcomers.

Original stars Hugh Bonneville (Henry Brown), Sally Hawkins (Mary Brown), Jim Broadbent (Mr Gruber), Peter Capaldi (Mr Curry), Julie Walters (Mrs Bird), Samuel Joslin (Jonathan Brown) and Madeline Harris (Julie Harris) are all back to reprise their roles.

With the film expected to be another hit, it is likely that a third Paddington outing will be given the green light with StudioCanal committed to making it.

Paddington 2 will be released in the UK on November 10th.
