Ordinary man Tom Hiddleston faces the apocalypse in new trailer for The Life of Chuck

A new trailer has landed for The Life of Chuck.

The upcoming sci-fi drama, which won the People’s Choice Award at last year’s Toronto International Film Festival, is the latest story from acclaimed novelist Stephen King to be adapted into a film, following in the footsteps of other King works including Stand by Me (1986), Misery (1990) and The Shawshank Redemption (1994).

Helmed by Mike Flanagan (Doctor Sleep, The Fall of the House of Usher), the plot follows the remarkable life of an ordinary man named Charles Krantz whose death coincides with the end of the world.

Tom Hiddleston (The Night Manager, Loki) takes centre stage as Charles alongside a starry support cast that includes Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave, Doctor Strange), Karen Gillan (Doctor Who, Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy), Mia Sara (Legend, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off), Carl Lumbly (Alias, Captain America: Brave New World), Matthew Lillard (Scream, The Descendants), David Dastmalchian (Ant-Man, Late Night with the Devil), Annalise Basso (Captain Fantastic, Snowpiercer), Kate Siegel (Gerald’s Game, The Haunting of Hill House), Samantha Sloyan (Midnight Mass, The Pitt), Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation, The Founder), Rahul Kohli (Midnight Mass, The Fall of the House of Usher), Harvey Guillén (The Internship, What We Do in the Shadows), Jacob Tremblay (Room, Doctor Sleep), and Mark Hamill (Star Wars series, The Big Red One).

The Life of Chuck will arrive in UK cinemas on 22 August.
