Almost a decade since his thrilling disappearance act in The Bourne Ultimatum (2007), Matt Damon is making his long-awaited comeback as action hero Jason Bourne in a new film.

The Oscar-winning star, who was last seen stranded on Mars in the 2015 sci-fi blockbuster The Martian, is reprising his role as CIA assassin Bourne for the upcoming action thriller which is (boringly) entitled Jason Bourne.

Fans will be happy to know that the fourth installment of the Bourne franchise has released its official trailer which can be seen below:

Directed by Supremacy and Ultimatum director Paul Greengrass (United 93, Captain Phillips), the plot sees Bourne

Another Bourne veteran making her comeback to the series is Julia Stiles (10 Things I Hate About You, Dexter) as CIA agent Nicky Parsons.

Fresh from her recent Oscar-winning performance in The Danish Girl (2015), Alicia Vikander (The Man from U.N.C.L.E, Ex Machina) is the high profile newcomer in the support cast and is joined by veteran Tommy Lee Jones (The Fugitive, Men in Black trilogy), Vincent Cassel (Black Swan, Trance), Riz Ahmed (Four Lions, Nightcrawler) and Ato Essandoh (Django Unchained, Vinyl).

Jason Bourne will be released in the UK on July 28th.
