Jodie Comer and Stephen Graham to star in Covid-based Channel 4 series

When it comes to Merseyside talent, there’s no question that Jodie Comer and Stephen Graham are considered acting royalty across the region.

The scouse duo have produced some phenomenal work on the small-screen in recent years with Jodie already a shining star with her BAFTA AND Emmy-award winning role as Russian assassin Villanelle in the hit series Killing Eve (2018-present). In addition to that, she has also contributed fine performances in the likes of My Mad Fat Diary (2013-15), Thirteen (2016) and more recently, Talking Heads.

In contrast, Stephen’s television credits have been just as outstanding with acclaimed performances in the likes of Boardwalk Empire (2010-14), This is England series (2010-15), Little Boy Blue (2017), Line of Duty (2019) and last year’s The Virtues (2019).

Having previously starred together in the Liverpool-based crime series Good Cop (2012), the pair are now set to reunite for an upcoming Channel 4 drama that will focus on a care home during the coronavirus pandemic.

The untitled four-part series is being made by the team behind the BAFTA-winning drama National Treasure (2016) with writer Jack Thorne and director Marc Munden both onboard.

The project is undoubtedly an exciting one for (Evertonian) Jodie and (Liverpudlian) Stephen especially after their previous collaboration on Good Cop.

It already helps that the pair have great affection for each other, with Jodie dedicating her BAFTA win to Stephen for helping to kickstart her career.
