Jimmy Fallon to host 2017 Golden Globes

Next year’s Golden Globe Awards ceremony will be presented by one of America’s most respected television individuals.

Jimmy Fallon, current host of The Tonight Show, will take over presenting duties for the 2017 Golden Globes.

NBC Entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt announced the news at the Television Critics Association’s press tour earlier today;

“We’ve found the best possible host to make the evening really memorable and that’s Jimmy Fallon. I know he will bring his unique energy and wit to the show. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association is thrilled and we’re thrilled as well that he wanted to do it this year.”

British actor/writer Ricky Gervais (and his risky jokes!) and comedian pals Tina Fey and Amy Poehler had shared responsibility for hosting the ceremony in the past six years.

The 74th Annual Golden Globe Awards will take place in Los Angeles on January 8th 2017.
