Jessica Chastain deals with high stakes poker in Molly’s Game trailer

With a high number of films under her belt in the past several years, Jessica Chastain is continuing to increase her hectic workload with more versatile projects in the next year or so.

Amongst those upcoming films is the real-life drama Molly’s Game which sees the two-time Oscar nominated actress work alongside renowned writer / director Aaron Sorkin (The West Wing, The Social Network).

The film’s official trailer has premiered online and is now available to watch.

The film is based on the true story of Molly Bloom (Chastain), an Olympic-class skier who ran the world’s most exclusive high-stakes poker game for a decade before being arrested in the middle of the night by 17 FBI agents wielding automatic weapons. Her players included Hollywood royalty, sports stars, business titans and finally, unbeknownst to her, the Russian mob. Her only ally was her criminal defense lawyer who learned that there was much more to Molly than the tabloids led us to believe.

Jessica is joined in the film by versatile British actor Idris Elba (Luther, Thor trilogy) as well as Kevin Costner (The Untouchables, JFK, Hidden Figures), Michael Cera (Superbad, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World) and Chris O’Dowd (The IT Crowd, Bridesmaids).

Molly’s Game will be released in the UK on 26th December.
