Hugh Jackman searches for his daughter with help from Jake Gyllenhall in official trailer for Prisoners

As he once again prepares to don the claws in the upcoming X-Men spinoff The Wolverine, Hugh Jackman is continuing to work on dramatic material as he stars in the upcoming crime-thriller Prisoners.

The Oscar-nominated star of Australia and Les Miserables is joined by fellow Hollywood hot-shot Jake Gyllenhaal (Brokeback Mountain, End of Watch) as the pair team up in their gritty new film which has unveiled its official trailer.

Directed by Denis Velleneuve (Incendies), the plot sees Jackman play family man Keller Dover who is left distraught when his daughter and her friend get kidnapped. When the police become involved, Detective Loki (Gyllenhall) struggles to find the two girls resulting in Keller taking matters in his own hands.

Solid support in the cast comes from Maria Bello (A History of Violence, World Trade Centre), Viola Davis (Doubt, The Help), Terence Howard (Crash, Iron Man), Paul Dano (Little Miss Sunshine, There Will be Blood) and Oscar-winner Melissa Leo (Frozen River, The Fighter).

The film will be released in the UK on October 4th.
